Ishi Salon Marchmont

I “stumbled” upon Ishi while looking for a really good hairdresser in Edinburgh and I was delighted with my find, in more ways than one! The salon is attractive and welcoming and the attention from Chris was second to none. I will be back!

As always Lynne is an excellent hairdresser.

As usual, Chris was fantastic! On hand with good advice since I was having a complete restyle, and it was comforting knowing I was in safe hands. Lovely, chilled atmosphere and a friendly vibe. Would highly recommend this salon.

Took photo into Chris and he cut my hair exactly as I had described. He also put a toner through my hair to lift my highlights. Delighted with the result.

Chris is awesome. I can be always rely on him for a great cut. He seems to know exactly what shape and style I’m looking for, even when I’m not sure how to describe it!

I’ve been going to Ishi for years, and it’s because I just love it! The whole experience is excellent; Chris is a brilliant stylist who listens to me, understands what I want in terms of hair style, and really works hard to make it a positive experience. The staff are friendly, chatty, and the salon atmosphere is always welcoming and warm. Couldn’t ask for more, to be honest!

This appointment was for my 2 sons, age 5 and 3. They’re both a bit nervous about the hairdresser but Chris was amazing with them; it was so relaxed and they now have lovely haircuts thanks to him. Would always recommend Ishi!

I went here for the first time yesterday and Chris cut and styled my hair. I wanted a lot cut off, I wasn't even totally sure what I wanted but he did an amazing job. I've never been happier with a haircut, I love it! He spent a lot of time making sure it was right and honestly seemed to care about it even more than I did! He was also friendly and a good laugh. The salon is nice, clean and bright. The other stylists were also friendly. Will definitely be going back.

My son had his hair cut by Chris yesterday. He was slightly out of his comfort zone because he normally goes to the local barber. He wanted a cool haircut for his 15th birthday and Chris did an amazing job. He was kind and friendly and immediately put my son at his ease. My son has decided that he will keep getting his hair cut by Chris for as long as Chris is still cutting hair!

I’ve been going to this salon for years and always delighted ! Great colourist and lovely cut and blow dry! If you have a special event and just need a gorgeous blow dry / red carpet ready . Chris is your man !! Salon is comfortable and super stylish and I never feel rushed . Overall a great salon experience.
