I was so excited to get my hair done as it had old dye fading out at the ends like a bad balayage. The lady who coloured my hair was lovely and did explain that we needed to match the all over hair colour to my darkest patch and that to begin with my hair will look dark. We looked at options and decided on a colour which was cooler because I didn’t want a dark brown with loads of red in it. I wanted a colour closer to my natural colour.

The lady who washed my hair and cut it hardly spoke to me and seemed irritated when I showed some examples on Pinterest of the kind of cut I would like, that I felt I had to apologise. Whilst washing my hair she didn’t ask if the temperature was ok, she didn’t speak to me at all until I asked if the conditioning treatment had been put in - which she explained she had. Had I not asked I wouldn’t have known. The head massage lasted for about 20seconds and was very disappointing.

There was no atmosphere in the salon, no conversation (aside from with the colourist at the beginning) it was very silent aside from the Toni & Guy music reel. Generally not a good vibe.

In all fairness the cut is fantastic and I’m really happy with it. At the time I was happy with the colour but since being outside and catching it in natural light, it looks so dark - the ends are almost black. I’ve washed my hair twice since now and it’s still not what I like. The colour has a lot of red in it and coppery, something I wanted to move away from.

I paid £146 for a disappointing experience, made to feel embarrassed for opening up a Pinterest board and a hair colour I really dislike. I feel so upset and wish I had never gone in. I do want to make it clear the colourist couldn’t have been nicer, it’s just a shame that it hasn’t worked out.
