I had my first treatment at Rush Clapham High St yesterday with Monika - half head highlights and cut and blow dry - and I am SO impressed with the service and result.
I have been to the same hairdresser for 7 years but had to find a new one as I moved away from the area. A friend recommended Rush to me and I was a little skeptical because I haven't been to a high street hairdresser for a very long time.
I booked in with Monika, the senior stylist and I was so happy with the service i got. I felt completely valued as a customer, I really felt like she put so much effort into my hair to ensure that I got the result I wanted. She kept checking on my hair and wouldn't rush the service to ensure that the highlights lifted properly.
The service was a little more expensive than I had anticipated - with a 50% discount I was quoted £110 on the phone, but with extras such as toner and the bond repairing treatment it came to £155, but it was definitely worth it.
All the staff in the salon were very friendly and helpful, one kind lady even let me borrow her iPhone charger. The only area for improvement I could suggest was the atmosphere in the salon was a little low, I think the place could do with a little revamp, it felt like most other salons. I think a new decor would make it more original and memorable.
Other than that - I will be recommending Monika to all of my friends and definitely going back there myself!
I visited Rush Clapham on 29 October 2016 and experienced the worst service I have ever encountered. Firstly, I had to wait for 30 minutes before being seen - there had been a double booking and I was forced to change my afternoon plans. Several times I was pointed at, stared at, asked my name, but not once did anyone apologise of explain why I was waiting. Eventually a girl came to wash my hair; I didnt really understand what she was saying and she was incredibly blunt in her manner. She was incredibly slow. Another colleague then came into the washing room and told her 'to take her time'.. She took 20 minutes to wash my hair, burning my scalp and getting my clothes wet. She then dumped a towel on top of my head so I couldn't see and walked out. Nice. Eventually, almost 50 minutes after I arrived I was seen by a hairdresser. He did an okay job, but his 5 minute trim was not worth the for £59 i paid for it, neither was the service.
I have come to the Rush on Clapham high street a few times and always been really happy with the results and the people have been lovely - so much so that recommended it to my friend! Unfortunately, when we both went back the whole experience was awful. The hairdresser was unhelpful and rude and when he hurt me he was most unapologetic and make me feel like it was my fault. I understand that these things happen but there is no need to make me feel like I'm the one being stupid and childish. I couldn't wait to get out of there, I nearly left before the haircut was done. I couldn't fault the acutual cut and blow dry, it looked beautiful but I left feeling really upset and would never ever set foot in there again.
Ive used RUSH a couple of times in the past so thought i would give this new salon a go.My friend had arranged her birthday night out in the clapham area so thought it was a good idea to book us both in for a Fancy blowdry- i have that useless limp doesnt really do much apart from sit flat to my face hair so i wasnt expecting alot to be honest. However i came into the salon and the girl with bright coloured hair worked a miracle on my hair....Ive never seen my hair look as shiney and bouncy. My friends hairdresser had her work cut out for her she has masses of hair but she ended up having the manager of the salon who informed us she also specialised in afro hair so we were in safe hands. deffinitly recommend the treatments they do when washing your hair...thank you rush Clapham my friend had a fab birthday!
I thought I would try Rush having seen a 50% off voucher. I had a stylist with at least 4 years experience according to the price range. I had very long hair and requested a cut where I would keep it long, didn't mind a a bit being cut off though wanted my face to be framed in the cut - shorter at the front. She said oo with long hair you it should go up to the chin at the front - fine we agreed just below (although I have had this done many times before and it looked good). Andrea was the stylists name and she seem to act like it was the first time I had been to a hairdressers and that my hair was in a right state - which was not the case, with comments like oo well we will sort you out.
During the cut she was asking another girl to go and buy her fags - which was totally unprofessional.
At the end of the cut it was quite a lot shorter - not the biggest problem for me, however it was the same length all the way around. Not what I asked for at all. I told her this and she moaned
