Perfectly nice but not what I wanted

I don’t usually go to salons but I wanted to this time because it was a big deal to cut my long hair after 10 years and I felt I wanted to make a thing of it and be a bit pampered.
The salon is really fancy and the people were perfectly lovely when I came in.
Overall I would say the experience was okay but I didn’t feel like I was pampered and it was a bit of a let down in a few ways.
I’m freelance and work from home, and I’m also a new mum so opportunities to talk to people are a bit thin on the ground for me. Unfortunately Josh wasn’t very chatty. It would have meant a lot to me to have a conversation but he didn’t seem much interested. Bit sad when I could hear the other hairdressers chatting away to their clients.
I don’t think the cut suits me that well. I wanted something modern looking and up to date as I might be a mum but I’m only 26. The cut looks pretty old lady-ish, especially the shaping around the front which I said I didn’t want initially but Josh persuaded me into it. Wish I’d stuck with my gut.
He did really sweetly offer at the end to fix any problems I had with the cut but I don’t really want to go back in. I think I’ll find a hairdresser who is a bit more chatty, and who listens to what I really want a bit more.
I realise that this is just another day in the office for a hairdresser and that they cut off long hair all the time, but it was still a big deal for me and honestly I left feeling a bit flat and disappointed.
I don’t think that they’re a bad hairdresser or anything and I am sure on another day for another person it would have been a different experience, but it just wasn’t right for me.

That is such a shame you felt that way, Josh is such a lovely man and is very friendly. We pride ourselves on great customer service and we want you to have a lovely time in our salon.
As Josh explained, as standard our aftercare service is available to you to have another 15 minutes free of charge if there is anything you don't like, especially if you have had a big change as you did.
But we would love for you to come back in and allow us to look after you and repeat the experience for you, free of charge of course. Josh can look at the cut again and get it so it does suit you.
Just ring up and book back in whenever is convenient for you.
