I am now a loyal customer at this salon. The service is great, the atmosphere friendly and relaxing and most of all they consistently do a great job! With grey starting to appear a few years ago, I went in search of a colourist who could blend colour with my strawberry blonde. I had a number of disasters but here I finally found someone I can trust.

I was very happy with my results yesterday both from Sarah & Jordan. HOWEVER - I always love having my hair washed & receiving a little massage when putting on conditioner / well that never happened.. From the time I sat in the chair - when the washer proceeded to tug the foils out of my head to two very very quick washes & then a dab of conditioner which she pushed into my head once. She then tried to comb my hair - I told her to stop as she was hurting me - clearly the conditioner has not been put onto my hair correctly. I actually asked her if she had put conditioner on she said yes and proceeded to rinse without the comb out . I was up & out of the chair in seconds - when I sat back down at the mirror - Jordan had to use leave in conditioner to try and comb my hair out. Doesn’t anybody watch these girls and help them? What is normally an amazing experience was the worst I have ever experienced - rough and short. I blame management for this. That young washer need to be trained.

Decided to take the plunge and undergo a colour transformation with Sarah G and I'm so glad I did. Sarah took me through the changes and showed me the toners and techniques she would use in much detail. I had 100% confidence I would leave the salon feeling fabulous and I did. My hair colour is unique and beautiful. Sarah never disappoints! Thank you!

I've been having my hair coloured and cut here for years! Sarah is amazing with colour both in her realistic suggestions and her skill on the job! I've had several different stylists over the year and and have no complaints at all. The salon is central for hitchin with good car parking nearby. It's my little escape time so it's important I feel comfortable at my hair salon and I always feel welcome. I'd recommend to my mum except she doesn't live nearby!

I have never been able to manage my hair until Maggie started to cut it I am really pleased with the cut and colour. Just wish it was not so expensive.

I just love this salon - I've been a regular now for around 4 years and always leave with a much improved look and a smile on my face. The stylists are very good at what they do - whether it's Sarah for colour or Jenny with her magic scissors, brushes and hairdryer- both are brilliant professionals and I can't recommend them and their colleagues highly enough. Their advice and expertise is second to none and I'm a very happy customer

I've been attending for nearly a year. Today was my first experience of having a very rude receptionist welcome me by saying 'I was just calling you'. Yes I was about 10 minutes late but if they knew their client well ( and why wouldn't they as both myself and my husband are frequent users) then they would understand how many miles I drive to reach the salon. Working with the NHS is a tough job. I was faced by 3-4 staff members as I walked in- made to feel like a burden. My parting service was just uneventful and forcefully had to make discussion with the colourist. Once she had put the dye on, was left all alone upstairs whilst clearly downstairs there was alot of socialing going on.
After 40 minutes, a different lady came to wash my hair, then took me down. It was the most boring trip to the salon I've ever had! Maybe my money would be best given some place else. Very disappointed with the service. Worse thing is that I can hone and after checking the result, saw that there was no proper coverage as there should've been. That was the icing on the cake! Back to google search for another aveda salon.
