I had a great cut by Karim and was impressed by all the steps taken to make the place COVID safe.
Unfortunately the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I was given a PPE kit at the start which was missing a mask which was fine as I was much happier to wear my own cotton mask. However I was only told at the end that I was being charged an extra £5 for the PPE.
I only just had enough money to pay for my £53 haircut so this extra charge took me into my overdraft. I also think it’s unfair because a) my kit was missing parts so all I actually used was the paper bib b) I was not warned of this charge in advance as it was not listed on the online booking system and c) it seems unreasonable for a large business like this to deliver me a surprise charge of £5 when smaller businesses are absorbing the costs of PPE themselves.
£5 for a square paper bib is simply unacceptable and I probably wouldn’t have gone to Toni & Guy if I had this information as I only had £55 in my current account.
