About us

Situated in the heart of Dalkeith lies our flagship Eskbank salon, offering a welcoming, enjoyable and vibrant atmosphere to all who visit. Located within a beautiful corner space (which was previously a garage!), our Chapter One Hair Spa is a destination like no other. Our stylish salon offers fabulous hair expertise whilst also being the home of our dedicated nail technician, LVL lash technician, as well as our beautiful, relaxing beauty spa with two beauty treatment rooms and beauty experts. Chill out with a visit at the start of the week or soak up the bustle of this busy salon as we get you ready for the weekend. Private parking is available on site just metres away from the salon means you can easily visit us any day of the week.

Always an enjoyable experience. Salon is lovely, staff always happy and friendly which rubs off on clients as they are all happy and chatty too. Staff are all very knowledgeable and offer great advice.

She is the wedding hair Queen!!

All the way through the appointment Niki asked me what I wanted and gave me options and ideas.

I think I’m a bit bias but I always think the service is 10/10, today I was able to work whilst getting my hair done which was a first! Rate Emma, think she has made a fab job!!
Need to watch out for that Lesley Ann though, she definitely looks like trouble!

Niki devised a colour treatment plan for my lockdown box dye murdered hair and it’s now looking better than ever. I booked my teenage son in with her and (at his request) she cut a super edgy style for him - he’s so pleased! Nicki is so talented I’d recommend her to everyone. The salon is a lovely environment and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Love my colour done today by the lovely Niki, great service and hair advice. Unfortunately I had to get a blow dry by another stylist which I was aware of in advance, I wasn't impressed with the blow dry at all. My hair is very thick and the stylist isn't used to my hair like Niki is and my hair doesn't have it's usual finished look after a trip to the salon.

Laura G is my usual stylist and a always she made me feel relaxed from the start. Poor Laura never seems to be able to find a junior to wash her clients hair when she needs one but she always just gets on with the task with a cherry smile. Chill out with a visit at the start of the week or soak up the bustle of this busy salon as we get you ready for the weekend. Private parking is available on site just metres away from the salon means you can easily visit us any day of the week.
