I was looking for a new hairdresser in Burgess Hill. The girl that cut my hair was polite and friendly, she asked me how I would like my hair cut and told me she would put an extra moisturising conditioner on my hair as it hadn't been cut for a while. Without warning, my head was then massaged and I was told to "close my eyes and relax" given the fact that I had my daughter with me, i didn't want to close my eyes or particularly have a head massage but it was over within minutes. I was then taken back to the sink to wash out the moisturising conditioner where I was informed by the girl that the "extra treatment" had just cost me £11-12 extra. I was so surprised as I had not been informed before hand or asked and would have said no! I never write reviews but felt this was a very under hand way to make extra money!
Thank you for letting us know about your experience in the salon. We can only apologise that you felt this way about the services you received and possible error in communication from the team. The extra conditioner you have mentioned was a luxury conditioning treatment which is provided with a shiatsu head massage , some clients decline the intense massage with eyes closed as personal preference. Like any service industry we charge for each service/treatment received which is shown on our price list/website , a bit like side dishes in a restaurant. Just over 30 years in business and can honestly say that we have no 'hidden costs' only charges for services received. Please accept our apologies again for any misunderstanding.
